Introducing Our Field Editor

wang_yiwen_photo  Yvon Wang is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of History at Stanford University. Her major interests include  Chinese history since 1600, sexuality studies, material culture, and world/comparative history. She received an AB in History, East Asian Studies, and Creative Writing at Princeton University and is currently at work on a    dissertation about explicit sexual representation in Chinese print commodities at the turn of the twentieth century.  A paper based on this research, “Whorish Representation: Pornography, Media, and Modernity in Fin-de-siècle  Beijing,” has appeared in Modern China (August 2013).
